Post Production
You should know a bit about me and why I'm blogging about Adobe After Effects and post production. I'm Sheila House and I am currently, at the time of this post, in the last three months of completion of a M.S. degree at Full Sail University. I'm in the Entertainment Business program that is offered by Full Sail. I got my interest in digital art while I was studying Film in Chicago at Columbia College, Chicago, and I happened into the Science department there and found they were making science aimed documentaries with digital tools. In 1996 I started using a Mac for the first time, a digital 3-CCD high 8 camcorder, and Adobe Premiere for shooting and editing video productions. I understood then that digital content creation and multimedia with motion graphics would only grow as time moved on. I have been working in video production since then as a producer and directr..Multimedia
In the 90's I picked up a book, Adobe Classroom In A Book After Effects 3, and fell in love with the power this software gave me in my video productions in the post production process. Digital content often needs to be moving, have color, design, depth, and a message. Not only is After Effects used in post production but it is also used in other multimedia projects. Web sites, DVDs, all types of videos, TV and films use motion graphics. After Effects is great for all this and easy to work into a video production. While it does have a learning curve the pay off is well worth the time and effort to work through lessons in a book or follow some video tutorials.

You will want to visit some Web sites for video tutorials. One site I use a lot is lynda.com and when you go there you will see why. Students of Full Sail University are given access to this site by Full Sail. And another great site of video tutorials is, http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/ Also check out Creative Cow and Red Giant.

Sheila,
ReplyDeleteGood insight into the tools that you use. Adobe products like Adobe After Affects have been a staple for many creative digital artists and producers. I especially like that backstory you present here describing the development of your interest in multimedia production and further your continued education in a degree that aligns with your talent. My only critique for this blog would be to fix any font variance to create a consistent style throughout your posts. Keep up the good work and I wish you further success in production and the film industry.

Good Evening Sheila,
ReplyDeleteIt's great to get to know you. I find it fascinating that you followed your passion in such a great way. When I was in my Bachelor's degree in film I used many of the resources you mentioned to sharpen my skills. They gave me the step by step I needed to really grasp the knowledge. Great insight.
Best,
Candyce
Enjoyed the post! Very Informative!
